Blues Begin Five Game Home stand with 3-2 Win over Flames

The Blues kicked off their five game home stand with a 3-2 win over the Calgary Flames on Thursday night at Scottrade Center. St. Louis built a 3-0 lead, then held off the Flames in the third period to get the win. Vladimir Tarasenko opened the scoring in the 1st period with his fifth goal of the season on the power play. Maxim Lapierre scored his first goal as a member of the Blues to make it 2-0 before one period had ended.

Alexander Steen scored his NHL best 14th goal of the season in the second period to make it 3-0 Blues. Brian Elliott stopped 18 shots to get the win in goal for the Blues. Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins come to Scottrade Center to play the Blues this coming Saturday night.
