MARYLAND HEIGHTS, MO (KTVI)-The Metropolitan Sewer District is working to repair a significant water main break near Creve Coeur Lake Park.  The break occurred Sunday night in a force main, a pressurized pipe that carries water, sewage, and other materials. Raw sewage spilled onto the road and into drainage ditches near the pumping station on Creve Coeur Mill Road.

The walking and bike paths near the southern end of the park were not affected, but MSD has set up some restricted access areas in that area until repairs are made.  Signs have been posted in the affected areas.

MSD said the repairs could take several days.
