Colleges may be checking your child’s social media pages

(KTVI) – Have a college0-bound kid?   You may want to take a closer look at your child’s Facebook and Twitter pages before they send in their college applications.

A recent study shows 31 percent of admissions officers say they check an applicants Facebook page or other social media pages to learn more about them.

That’s up five percent from last year. The number of admissions officers who say they found something that would hurt an applicant’s chances, around 30 percent.
