(KTVI)-- Apple introduced iMessaging two years ago. It works a lot like a text message, sending instant messages between Apple devices, using Apple's network.

Most Apple devices use an iCloud and Apple ID to identify devices and backup data, and it's also used to direct iMessages between users and devices. If the device settings are configured a certain way, iMessages will appear on multiple Apple devices, including iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches that share the same Apple ID.
