ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)-- A happy reunion at Lambert International Airport Tuesday as a St. Louis woman returns home from the typhoon ravaged Philippines. Marla Brown was greeted by warm hugs from her husband and daughter when she arrived at the airport. "I feel good and safe," Brown said.
Brown went to the island nation six weeks ago to visit family. She and her loved ones rode out the storm in a house in a small town near Tacloban, the city hardest hit by the record storm. Brown says she had never been so afraid. "It was the scariest moment in my life."
Brown was also in the Philippines last month when a 7.1 earthquake rocked the country.
