Who else but the NHL’s leading scorer keyed the Blues 4-2 win over Carolina on Saturday night at Scottrade Center. Alexander Steen broke a 2-2 tie with his league leading 17th goal. T. J. Oshie scored an empty net goal in the final minute for insurance.

The Blues had built a 2-0 second period lead on goals by Roman Polak and David Backes, but Carolina tied the game with two shorthanded goals on the same Blues power play.

The Blues latest win capped a 4-0-1 home stand. Their overall season record is now 13-2-3, their best start since the 1990-91 season. The Note plays in Washington, D.C. on Sunday against the Capitals.
