New US citizens celebrate Thanksgiving at the International Institute

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - Becoming a new citizen is cause for a Thanksgiving feast.

The International Institute of St. Louis is preparing a Thankgiving feast on Tuesday for immigrants and refugees who have become
US citizens. For many it will be their first traditional Thankgiving.

St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay will be at the institute on South Grand to celebrate.

It helps those new to the US, adjust to the culture. Those attending Tuesday are from Iraq, Burma, Cuba and the Sudan.
