(KTVI) - It's been two and a half years since a terrible tornado tore though Joplin, leaving devastation and heartache in its path.

Since then, the town has rebuilt but some parts are still recovering and the memory will always be fresh in the minds of the residents.

From that terrible tragedy comes a new book that hopes to highlight the lessons learned from the twister and how the Joplin school district recovered and got students back to class and a sense of normalcy.

Zac Rantz is the author of "Hindsight: Lessons Learned from the Joplin Tornado and Other Crisis Events."
