Donate canned food and watch a movie for free

(KTVI)-Wehrenberg Theatres is once again hosting its “Cans Film Festival” to benefit The Salvation Army’s “Tree of Lights” campaign. On Saturday, Dec. 7, bring five canned food items to a participating Wehrenberg Theatre and receive free admission to any movie that day starting before 5:00pm. Bring 15 cans or more and receive a free movie pass for a future visit.

Wehrenberg Theatres will again award a year-long movie pass to the single largest donation received at all theatres that day.

The 2011 Cans Film Festival took in 330,000 canned food items.

Movies will include Twilight: Breaking Dawn Pt. 2, Skyfall, Argo, Flight, Life of Pi, Lincoln, Red Dawn, Rise of the Guardians, The Sessions, and Wreck it Ralph. All applicable 3D shows are valid for Cans Film Festival.

    FYI – the list of movies is incorrect, though everything else is pretty close! (Technically there are more theatres, but not in the St. Louis area.) The movies include “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” “Thor: The Dark World,” the family friendly “Frozen” in 2D and 3D, the brand new “Out of the Furnace” and more.
