(KTVI) – How secure is your password? A new project from a Microsoft research team aims to crack your code and possibly read your mind.

The Telepathwords project tries to predict the next character of your password. The results are remarkably good.

The website does this by referencing common passwords, phrases and keyboard patterns. Some of the password information is from passwords made public through security breaches. Common password selection behaviors include sequences of adjacent keyboard keys.

The site says that their project is not perfect. Hackers may have an advantage if they know personal information about you that Telepathwords does not. Examples include anniversary, favorite food, or pet’s name.
