CENTRAL WEST END (KTVI) – A woman hit by a car while crossing Lindell Boulevard Thursday morning has died.

St. Louis police say the 63-year-old Nancy Benson was crossing Lindell around 6:55 a.m. when she was hit by a car going westbound on Lindell.  Benson was not in the crosswalk.

The driver did stop and check on Benson’s condition.  The driver told police he did not see Benson because of the wet weather and her dark clothing.

Benson was taken to an area hospital where she later died.

Accident reconstruction crews were called to investigate.  Lindell was closed between Taylor and Euclid for nearly two hours.

Was this woman been residing at “Park Place” apartments on Forest
Park and Newstead? Had she been driving a motorized wheel
Chair? So sad. Please update. Thank you. I live at Park Place.
