(KTVI) – Mayor Slay’s St. Louis accent must be very thick. His tweets are even taking on a twinge of the signature STL speaking style. The accent is known for pronouncing a hard “A” in words like “Christmas ARnament” and “Highway FARty.” His tweets are now being tagged with “#Starmmode.”

It started as a request from the Post-Dispatch’s Valerie Schremp Hahn. She asked in a tweet, “I would like to respectfully request, once again, that in south St. Louis, we call it #STARMMODE”

St. Louis, Mayor Francis Slay responded, “Credit @valeriehahn for the #STARMMODE hashtag. By mayoral decree, I approve it. #fgs”

The winter weather in St. Louis has been the perfect opportunity for the Mayor to show off his new hash tag. We just wish he would use the tag, #FOX2-Farcast.

Jeff Rainford, The Mayor’s Cheif of staff, tweeted: “@MayorSlay, when the weather is threatening, I turn to the #FOX2Farcast.
