The Blues on Wednesday locked up their top scorer for an additional three years. Top goal scorer Alexander Steen agreed to a three year deal worth $17.4 million dollars to stay with the Blues. Steen leads the team with 22 goals. His best goal scoring season in the NHL is 24, so Steen appears to be on a personal record pace in goal scoring this season. Steen is 29 years old and was scheduled to become a free agent at the end of the 2013-14 season. He was acquired by the Blues from Toronto in a trade in November of 2008.
