ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) –  A debate on whether to legalize marijuana in Missouri is expected to draw a crowd Wednesday night.

The head of the group, “Show Me Cannabis” John Payne, will face off against Sgt. Jason Grellner, vice-president of the National Narcotics Officers Association.   The debate is at 7 p.m.  at the Ethical Society at 9001 Clayton Rd, St Louis, MO 63117.

A new law in Illinois allowing marijuana for medicinal purposes takes effect next month.  Colorado and Washington are the only two states that legalized pot for recreational use.

The “Show Me Cannabis” group has submitted a proposal to the Secretary of State’s office. It’s the first step in trying to get the issue on a statewide ballot.

I attended this debate and I cant even describe how Sgt. Grellner could only laugh at his opponent’s questions because he had no logical response to give.
