COLLINSVILLE, IL (KTVI) – Police are warning the public about one Craigslist seller in Collinsville. There have been two reports of people getting robbed and beaten with a bat after responding to an ad for a TV.

Police say a man met someone at a vacant apartment in Collinsville apartment about an ad for a TV on Craigslist. He followed the seller into the location at 50 Brookhill Ct. and then says he was hit in the head with a wooden baseball bat. He was then ordered by the seller to hand over his money. I’m no detective, but if it was at the same residence and it is an apartment, couldn’t they contact the owner/landlord and find out who the renter/suspect is? I know, such a crazy idea, right?

maybe you missed the sentence that said “Police say a man met someone at a vacant apartment in Collinsville”…keyword being VACANT, as in, NOBODY lives there…Glad you are not a detective.

I can’t believe we live in a society where it’s now commonplace for people to attempt to kill someone over the change in their pockets. WE are living in the third world country, Disgusting!!!!

All you got to do is have common sense you going to meet someone to buy something from someone you dont know, well call the cops to go with you to meet the seller they will just to make sure this NEVER happens… COMMON SENSE ppl common sense!!
