(KTVI)-Coming off their first loss of the season in the Braggin’ Rights game, Mizzou had another first Saturday. It was the Tigers first road game of the year against North Carolina State. The Wolfpack entered 9 and 2 overall and 8-and-1 at home. NC State was up by two at the  half and stretched that  lead out to 10 in the second half, 53-43. But the Tigers came back.  After tying the game, Mizzou gets back into it by hitting three’s, going on a 11-1 Missouri run.

It was back-and-forth late in this one, but in the end Mizzou grinds it out. The Tigers win it 68-64. Jordan Clarkson led the Tigers with 21 points and Earnest Ross chipped in with 11 points and 13 rebounds. The Tigers don’t play again until the new year.

The Fighting Illini were fresh off their Braggin’ Rights win as they took on the Illinois-Chicago at the United Center.  Illinois was down ten at the half in this game, but outscored UIC  by 24 in the second half. They  go onto win 74-60, allowing just 16 points in the second half.

Illinois improves to 11-and-2 on the year. They are back in Champaign for a New Year’s Eve day game against Indiana.
