ST. LOUIS (KTVI) - The mother of a child who was beaten to death, and her boyfriend now face criminal charges in the case.  According to the St. Louis Medical Examiner three-year old Dashon Haskin died of a lacerated liver within hours of the beating.

Saturday, St. Louis Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce issued counts of second degree murder, child abuse and armed criminal action against 25-year old Hershell Kirkman of the 5600 hundred block of Kingbury in the Central West End.  He lived at Kingsbury Terrace, a St. Louis Housing Authority apartment building for low income and disabled residents.

Dashon Haskin`s mother, Ericka Haskin was in the apartment at the time of the attack Wednesday or Thursday, but failed to call for medical help after the child`s injuries became obvious.  She was charged with child endangerment.

Court documents indicate Kirkman admitted to repeatedly striking the child with his fist.  The case will be presented to a grand jury.

An uncle of the victim told FOX2 News the family is heartbroken over the child`s death.  He said his sister has an infant daughter who was taken into protective custody.

Ericka Haskin is being held on $300,000 cash only bond.  Kirkman`s cash only bond was set at half a million dollars.

As of Saturday night, funeral arrangements had not been completed.

I suppose we will have to wait for the court to convict them, then they need to be tied up and someone that weighs about 500 pounds needs to beat them till they are dead. That way they experience the slow death that their son experienced.

My guess would be the ratio of the size of the parents to the child’s. They are at least 60 times the size of the child. A 500lb pound person wouldn’t scratch the surface of the size of force needed to punish these “bafoons”.So I’d say a 10 ton person to make the fight even.

“The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office charged a mother, and her boyfriend Saturday, in the death of three-year-old Dashon Haskins.”

Get a proofreader to look at your stories. The verb “charged” has two direct objects; there is no comma between them. You would need a comma if there were three or more direct objects. Simple grammar and mechanics that any competent professional writer should know.

A lot of people who write articles for Fox 2 News are in the grade school level at the very least. They have VERY poor grammar and writing mechanics skills. Nobody proofreads their stories and they just go unread by professionals. What’s even worse is that we as taxpayers have to pay them using our money. What a shame.

A child was murdered and all your worried about is proper grammar? Move to a different news station if you don’t like it! Fox 2 is too Ghetto for me anyways!

Some people should not be allowed to bare children when there’s signs of them being unstable or fit. It hurts so bad to hear these stories so often, this world we live in is hell on earth. What kind of person does this that scum of man will have his day and so will his worthless whore! Judgement day is coming to all evil doers, may the onnocent Dashon rest in peace and please keep our family in your prayers. Missing my cousin
