Billikens Survive at Duquesne, Winning 76-72, 12th Straight Victory

The Billikens kept their winning streak going, but had to work much harder that they planned, beating Duquesne, a .500 team, 76-72 on Wednesday night in Pittsburgh. The Billikens got down by as many as eight points in the first half, but Grandy Glaze came off the SLU bench to contribute 12 first half points. The Billikens trailed by just two, 36-34 at the half.

In the second half, Mike McCall Jr. led the Billikens to the comeback win. He scored 13 points, including four three point baskets. Leading scorer Dwayne Evans was held without a basket in the game and finished with just five points, all free throws. Evans also fouled out in the game. Also in double figures scoring for SLU; Grandy Glaze 12 points, Austin McBroom 11 points, Jordair Jett and Rob Loe scored ten points each.

The win, the Billikens 12th in a row, gives them a season record of 18-2 and an Atlantic Ten record of 5-0.
