CASEYVILLE, ILLINOIS (KTVI)- A few months ago a  Caseyville family owned business  was riddled with bullets  in a robbery . The female owner was hit multiple times.  The owner found the strength to survive and says thatday changed her life forever.

The  robbery took place  last year on November 14th  in Caseyville.  The robbery went bad  and turned into a shooting at Ferguson's TV and VCR Repair Shop on Main Street. The victim was business owner Judy Ferguson .  Judy and her husband Bill  who own the store  say   it's still hard for the them  to relive what happened. "It was a shock because  I  had been over there 25-years and never in a community like this did I think it would happen," said Judy.  "I'm still  in  a shock," said  her husband Bill.
On that day Judy was sitting in a  chair inside  the store when the suspect walked in and  asked a few questions.  Next,  Judy she says  things changed quickly.  The suspect pulled out a handgun and fired 11 shots  with 6 of them hitting Judy. "He did  think he killed me .  I just wonder did he ever stop to think  was this worth it,"said Judy.

After the gunman left the store Judy knew she was hit and somehow found the strength to call 911  for help. The bullets went into the top of her arm and came out through the bottom of her arm, her legs and pelvis were fractured . Months later after much pain and  long hospital visits   Judy's life was changed forever.  " I still cant' use my  right hand I still need surgery," said the shooting victim.

For years Judy has collected  angel statues.  In fact, the angels  are placed  throughout  her home.  The Ferguson family says they  know angels were watching over Judy that day.

Phillip T. smith  from East St. Louis was charged  with the  robbery, discharging a firearm and possession of ammunition by a felon  and one count of attempted murder.

A black resident of East St. Louis attempts to take a white Caseyville resident’s property and has no problem killing her.
