ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)-- After 45 years, the iconic Millennium Hotel in downtown St. Louis is now closed for good.

Owners announced back in May that the hotel needed too much work and did not meet company standards.

For city officials, the main focus has been to close the facility safely and make sure the fire routes are up to code.

The electricity will remain on as well as the heat.

Even though it's disappointing seeing the hotel close, there is hope the owners will utilize the space to the fullest.

shootings in broad daylight, no one willing to talk about the root of violent crime in St. Louis, is it any wonder that companies have fled the hostile union environment, and residents have fled areas infested with entitlement parents and out-of-control children??
