Dave Murray’s latest stl forecast and weather disco…For The weekend…January 25-26, 2014

*** The key to the weekend…more temperature swings…but to get the swings we need wind…gusty winds all weekend long. Warmest will be Sunday then back into the deep freeze Sunday night, Monday and Tuesday**.

Saturday:

Early flurries…then clearing skies…windy…a chilly day
Winds: Northwest 10-25 m.p.h.
High: 37 degrees…around midday–then dropping all afternoon

Saturday night:

Partly cloudy and chilly
Winds: Northwest 5-15 m.p.h.
Low: 25 degrees.

Sunday:

Partly sunny…windy
Winds: Southwest 15-35 m.p.h.
High: 49 degrees…feels colder

Deep cold…8 degrees Sunday night with some light snow and flurries…big cold Monday and Tuesday

THE WEATHER DISCO:

More see-saw temperatures on the way…but cold will still be king….looking at the next 5 days…a little break over the weekend…but the wind will add a solid chill to the air…chilly Saturday with dropping afternoon temperatures…then Sunday is the warmest…upper 40’s to near 50 degrees…but again the winds…gusty from the southwest will make it feel chilly to be out and about…but better. Then here comes another intense arctic cold front early Sunday night…gusty winds from the northwest…some flurries and light snow and a heafty temp drop…going to 8 degrees…by Monday morning…10 for the high Monday and 13 for the high Tuesday…good times…still cold Wednesday morning. The there are signs of a pattern flip…the giant dome of high pressure in the west will break down…this will allow more of a zonal flow over the nation…easying the cold and dry air…we should be warmer Thursday and Friday…however the northwest flow will not go in peace…it will try to hang on. Also signs the clipper flow will try to be replaced by the southern storm track…but none of this is cast in stone…but signs the atmsophere is trying to shift…it will be a slow and painful process. Have a great weekend
