ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - A case of mistaken identity may have lead to a home invasion west St. Louis.

It happened around 3:45 a.m. Monday.  St. Louis police responded to McCausland and Nashville after a report of a home invasion.

The victims say three masked men kicked in the door claiming to be police officers and called out someone by name.

But that person did not live in the home.  Officials say the men then left the home and the residents were not injured.

There is no further details about the suspects.
