ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) –  The Central Library project in downtown St. Louis is being honored for the restoration that brought this old building back to the public.  The Library has been named by the American Institute of Architects as one of eleven winners of the 2014 Institute Honor Award for Architecture.

A release from the St. Louis Public Library states, “The Central Library project offered many unique challenges to the design team, particularly the delicate task of integrating old and new in a landmark building. The AIA jury was impressed.”

CNN also recently featured the Central Library in a video titled, “The 11 Coolest Buildings in America.”

The Library says that since opening, the building averages 40,000 visits per month.  Learn more and take a tour. Visit the Central Library’s website.
