ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)– You can now watch live streaming video of rockhopper, gentoo and king penguins and horned and tufted puffins from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day of the week at the St. Louis Zoo. Watch zookeepers feeding the animals and cleaning habitats, birds swimming and diving, resting, preening, building nests and sometimes even raising their young.

The animal care staff will also use the cameras to monitor the birds’ behavior year-round as part of the Zoo’s animal husbandry protocol.

The St. Louis Zoo say, “While Penguin & Puffin Coast is currently closed to the public for construction of Polar Bear Point, the gentoo, rockhopper and king penguins and the horned and tufted puffins are still in their habitats. We invite you to virtually look in on them every day! The exhibit will re-open when Polar Bear Point opens in 2015.”

The Zoo says that after 5 p.m., they will play previously recorded footage.
