PIEDMONT, MO (KTVI) -Police arrested a man for allegedly shooting two men and beating his pregnant wife.

This happened in Piedmont, Missouri about 2 hours south of St. Louis.

Police say it started as a domestic situation. Jonathan C Elliott is accused of beating his wife in the face and shooting the two men who tried to step in and intervene. The injuries appear to be non-life threatening.

Elliott was arrested in St. Francois County after stealing a car. He stole his getaway car after ditching a car he borrowed from McDonald’s co-worker.

Friends of the victims are praying for their recovery.  They are expected to survive although there is no word on what effect the assault had on the pregnancy.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is heading up this investigation.

Piedmont is not a bad town. No need to say bad things about it. Every town has something happen once in a while

How would the baby get hurt because she got punched in the face? Her face ain’t pregnant. Jeff Bernthal, maybe you should read what you write before you post it.

Cameron, if she was beaten in the face she could have fallen resulting in an injury to the unborn child. She could have been beaten unconscious and possibly cutting off oxygen or blood flow to the unborn baby. Stress from the situation can affect the baby. Blood sugar levels, oxygen levels, the mother’s heart rate, many things affect the baby. I think he did a great job writing the article. And quite frankly Michael, your parents must have been rude people with small minds because they obviously passed that on to you. Are you responsible for your parents mistakes and failures? No. Neither is that baby responsible for his father’s. Crime has not address, it happens everywhere. Take a trip back to kindergarten and remember not to say anything at all if you don’t have anything nice to say.

You know the stress from the pregnant lady getting beat could cause stress to the baby. That is why they said they don’t know what effect it had on the baby.
