Wash U. looking for participants for “Essential Trial” study

(KTVI) – If you are 30 to 100 pounds overweight and want to lose the extra pounds, Washington University may be of help.

It’s about to begin a new study and Dr. Shelby Sullivan explains.  It’s called the “Essential Trial.”

Procedure is designed to reduce the stomach’s ability a stretch during meals so people can feel full and satisfied with smaller portions

*If people qualify, they also receive a comprehensive weight-loss program overseen by a team of nutritionists, doctors and nurses.

There is an information session at 6 p.m. Thursday, February 13, 2014.
