3 separate heroin deaths in Madison County

MADISON COUNTY, IL (KTVI)-- Madison County authorities are investigating three separate deaths in the past 24 hours all linked to heroin.

Katie Heavey, 29, was found by her father dead at her home in Collinsville. Drug-related materials were at the scene.

Hours later, 38-year-old Dearold Oseland was discovered by his girlfriend with drug paraphernalia at his Elm Street apartment in Roxana.

And just before 3 a.m., 40-year-old Paul Simpson was discovered dead at a home on Grand Avenue in Granite City.

Again, police say drugs were at the scene.

It is unclear if there is any connection between the three cases.
