Former Missouri state representative dies after fall

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) –  A former Missouri state representative who served Jefferson County has died.  Ron Casey lived in Crystal City and was 61-years-old.

Ron Casey died early Sunday morning from a head wound he received after a fall on a concrete floor. Casey left office last year after serving 12 years in the state house. He was also a former Jefferson County commissioner and a former corrections officer.

Governor Jay Nixon issued this statement about the representative’s death, “Georganne and I were saddened to learn of the passing away on Sunday of Ron Casey, a man who was a dedicated public servant to the citizens of Jefferson County for more than 20 years. Ron also was a loyal friend to many people, including me, and a man who lived out his faith every day. Ron’s family, including his sister, brothers, nieces and nephews, are in our thoughts and prayers.”
