ST. LOUIS (KTVI) - The massive Mardi Gras Grand Parade will kick off about 12 straight hours of fun, but only if partiers follow a few simple rules.

Krewes are putting the finishing touches on their floats. They will be judged, after all. You can see them for yourself. Just bring your family, friends, warm clothes and comfortable shoes. But, Mack Bradley of Mardi Gras, Inc. said there are a few things you should leave behind.

“Two C’s, Two B’s: Cans, coolers, bottles backpacks. Leave those at home.  We do have checkpoints all around the neighborhood.  If you come in with any of those items, you will be asked to go back to your car and put them back.”

Bradley said this is to keep anyone from throwing the closed containers.  But, organizers are willing to compromise.  You can bring your own beverages, as long as they are in an open plastic cup.

The Bud Light Grand Parade steps off at 11 a.m. Saturday March 1, 2014 just south of Busch Stadium.  The fun does not end there.  There will be two post-parade concerts on Geyer Avenue.  One stage will be at 7th Street.  The second will be at 9th.  Save your energy, though. Next week, the Fat Tuesday Parade will step off Tuesday March, 4, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. on Washington Avenue.

Here is you can plan your weekend for getting those beads at the Bud Light Grand Parade 2014.
