BELLEVILLE, IL (KTVI) – A fathers complaint has lead to child abuse charges filed against a Dupo, IL. man. The St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office has charged 24-year-old Joshua S. Weigel with aggravated battery to a child under 13, after the father of a one-year-old boy walked into the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office in Belleville Thursday, February 20th reporting his son had been abused.

After a medical exam for unexplained burns to the child’s neck and bruises to his body, the Illinois Department of Child and Family Services was contacted. The child at the time was in the care of the boy’s mother and her boyfriend Joshua Weigel.

An investigator for the sheriff’s office conducted an investigation, and submitted the case to the State’s Attorney’s Office.

Weigle is being held in the St. Clair County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

What a messed up world we live in, our priorities are all backward. I came to this story to see the amount of comments compared to the ones of the boy abusing the dog. The dog abuse story has almost 300 comments and this poor baby has 3. As bad as the dog abuse story is, there is more concern for the dog than this little one year old baby boy..wow, we are really in trouble folks. there should be outrage every time this type thing happens.
