Multi-state search continues for missing teen

UPDATE (KTVI) – Nacodogches County Sheriffs in Texax are now looking for Nomei Velazquez, missing since Monday, in Lubbock, Texas.

An AMBER Alert has been issued for the missing Texas teen was believed to be in the Kansas City earlier this week.

The Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Department in Texas first started looking for Nomei Velazquez after she went missing Monday night. By Wednesday, the Kansas State Bureau of Investigation announced she may have been traveling northbound on Interstate 35 in Lenexa Kansas, just a few miles from the Missouri border.

Velazquez is believed to be with Juan Arenas Delacruz. Kansas investigators believe the two may have left the state, but it is still possible the teen could be in Missouri.

The Center offered this description for both Velazquez and Delacruz:


15 years old, born March 30, 1998

White female

Black hair

Brown eyes


120 lbs.

Last seen wearing a white shirt, blue jeans, black tennis shoes, glasses and carrying a brown purse.

Her nickname is “Mimi”.





170 lbs

Some facial hair

Silver 2004 Volkswagen Passat

Texas license plates: DF7T507
