Ameren and road crews gearing up for Sunday’s winter storm

ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – The St. Louis area is under a winter storm advisory with snow and ice to begin falling late Saturday night into Monday morning. Officials at Ameren, city governments and both state transportation agencies are gearing up for the latest winter storm slated to hit the St. Louis area starting late Saturday night into Monday morning.

Meanwhile, Ameren has move 120 workers and equipment to southeastern Missouri in preparation for significant ice storm expected in the southern part of the state. Staging for the crews and material will be Cape Girardeau, Sikeston/Dexter, and Hayti.

Ameren is warning residents to stay clear of downed power lines, tress, brush, and shrubs as they may have hidden downed power lines. Ameren is also recommending persons with special needs to may want to make arrangements to make alternate living arrangements now, if power outage in their area persists.
