“Hunger for More” initiative fights hunger during Lent

(KTVI) - Isaiah 58 Ministries announces its second annual Hunger for More, sponsored by Sauce Magazine. The south St. Louis nonprofit fights more than hunger March 4 through April 20 at participating restaurants.

Throughout Lent, restaurants participate in the Hunger for More initiative, which seeks to raise awareness about issues of poverty and hunger in south St. Louis City. Benton Park Cafe will have a fish fry every Friday during lent, March 7 through April 18.

Nicole Costello, executive chef Benton Park Cafe, and Rev. Brenda Booth, executive director Isaiah 58 Ministries, cooked up a fish dish for Randi Naughton.

Participating restaurants include:

  • Monday:        Mangia Italiano
  • Tuesday:        Joe's Crab Shack, St. Peters (Must mention Hunger for More)
  • Wednesday:  MoKaBe's Coffeehouse                                                                                                              King & I Thai Restaurant
  • Thursday:     Cafe Natasha`s                                                                                                                           SweetArt
  • Friday:            Benton Park Cafe

Mama Josephine`s is also donating 10 percent of their popular chicken and dumplings sales every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday during Lent.
