Sure hope Wright gets at least a years jail time. That way he won’t be paying any taxes and won’t get any tax refund!

    • Todd Schisler

Tom, he maybe able to get a tax credit depending on if he had earnings prior to going in joint…so tax services be on notice if a guy named Michael Wright asks you to work his file – run, do not walk.

  • ByeByeToTheRite

People sure have a way these days with getting angry at the wrong people.

If this guy was mad at his tax bill, I suggest he go to the office of the nearest Republican US or MO representative and choke him or her. That would be going more directly to the source of the problem.

    • FBHO

You mean like Democratic Governor Jay Nixon who vetoed a Republican bill that would cut taxes, then offered Boeing a huge tax break?

      • ByeByeToTheRite

Well, FBHO, I guess if this guy is CEO of Boeing or any wealthy property or business owner, those Republican tax cuts would have saved him millions! But if he’s just an ordinary Joe, you know, us “little people” then that tax cut amounted to about $50 so I doubt that would have made him happy.

Fact is, most working people like me pay FAR more taxes under Republicans than Democrats, because Republicans keep taxing and spending for welfare – welfare for the wealthy, the most expensive welfare program in America.

      • ByeByeToTheRite

Well, SURE Adama – here are the FACTS:

MO Republican Tax Cut Law Passed…

Cuts BUSINESS INCOME TAX OVER HALF – over 50% – from 6.5% to 3%.

Cuts TAXES FOR THE WEALTHY by HALF – over 50% – by allowing HALF their business income to be deducted.

Cuts taxes for ALL the REST of us by a measly 8% – from 6% to 5.5% – only HALF A PERCENTAGE POINT vs. THREE PERCENTAGE POINTS, or only .5% vs. 3% (that’s POINT 5% vs. 3% – SIX TIMES AS MUCH for the wealthy).

        Any more questions?

How about national taxes? After 1980 when Reagan the Vegetable was elected, he cut taxes for the wealthy, yet my band income when I was in a band making only $8,000 a year that year MY INCOME TAX WENT UP.

        Any MORE questions?

And J – nope – my salary has steadily climbed since 1985, yet my TOTAL TAXES PAID goes up up up each year when Repubilcans are in charge – oh,not INCOME tax, but ALL THE OTHER ONES LIKE SALES TAX to make up for tax cuts for the wealthy – so, nope, taxes are LOWER for WORKING CLASS PEOPLE under DEMOCRATS. Got it?

        Any more FACTS for ya?

  • J

Must have been doing better under the GOP therefore you were paying more taxes. Make more pay more, pretty simple. Let’s not get feelings in the way of facts.

Once again… Bye Bye needs to do his homework and quit spewing untrue rants about Republicans. Here is your homework assignment for tonight, Bye Bye – look up the terms “clean sweep” and “inflation” and then get back to us as to who (Democrat or Republican) cut taxes more for the middle class.

    • ByeByeToTheRite

Okay – I’m “getting back to you”: It’s Democrats. Obama specifically.

I don’t make over $250,000 a year sitting on my can on investment income, nor have I inherited $4 MILLION, so all the Republican tax cuts don’t affect me at all.

You have to be an IDIOT to believe Republican tax cuts benefit the middle working class. And it seems we’re tetering on about 50% of the population are IDIOTS. Must be the rural education system.

      • Steven Sweeney

Obama has taxed us blind, including tanning beds..Reagan didn’t have a 17 trillion dollar deficit.. Obama is the only president in history to get our credit rating lowered…Public schools are run by unions like the NEA and AFT, which explains not only your stupidity, but also why Obama can’t even spell “respect”..Nixon and the dems have run this state for 2 terms..bye Bye talking about facts is like miley cyrus talking about class…

      • Charlie Chotrow

You seem like a very bitter person Bye. You spew hatred about a group on unfound facts and half truths. And your “rural education system”, because their super intendants dont pull down 600 grand for running a system of 5 failing schools? The 50% IDIOTS are the ones that think welfare, food stamps, HUD and “health care” are all free.

When Mo Money Taxes were around, they would submit a return that you would hug the employee instead of choke. I mean, you know, like I said, the lack of honesty had something to do with them not being in business and stuff, you know what I’m saying.

  • Ted.

There are many positive aspects about our website, but at the top of the list is that we talk about taxes, not politics. I suggest we all do our best to keep this in mind. Thank you.
