Eureka firefighter killed in crash; child injured

EUREKA, MO (KTVI) - Tragic news out of Eureka. A beloved firefighter was killed while off-duty last night in Franklin county.

Missouri Highway Patrol Reports Gregory Light, 49, was driving home around 9:15pm on westbound Route O outside of Pacific, when an east-bound car traveling tried to pass another car and hit the front of light's car. His car went off the road.

Light was pronounced dead at the scene. An eleven-year-old passenger in the passing car was sent to a hospital in serious condition. Light was a 26 year veteran with the department. He leaves behind a wife and several children.
