ST. LOUIS (KTVI) - A fired damaged the old Rexall Building in North St. Louis late Sunday night.

A smoke detector first alerted firefighters just before 11 p.m. They rushed to North Kingshighway Boulevard at San Francisco Avenue.

Extra firefighters and tall ladder trucks were called in to fight the fire, on the fifth floor of the old factory. Part of that floor buckled during the fire, but no one was injured.

Te building now houses a business that stores repossessed and returned vehicles, as well as cars seized by the U.S. Marshals Service.

A long-time employee died in a fire last year at the same location.
