ROCK HILL, MO (KTVI)-Temperatures in the 70°s! That is the news St. Louisans have been aching to hear. After a dreary winter, this taste of spring has people shedding the layers and getting outdoors.

Many people didn't wait for work to end before they got outside. In Forest Park Monday afternoon, plenty of people took advantage of the warm up to get outside for a midday walk or run or bike ride.  Cyclists may have been pulling the bikes out for the first time after the long winter so some needed a little tune up. Golfers wasted no time filling up tee times. The day seemed perfect for nine or eighteen holes.

The Saint Louis Zoo was another very popular place. Not only were humans on the prowl, but many of the zoo’s animals also got outside for some fresh air.

In the nearby Central West End, outdoor diners were easy to spot. Long vacant sidewalk tables filled up in the afternoon sunshine.  That trend continued into the evening, with many people heading out to restaurants across the region with patios.

If for some reason you've been stuck inside Monday, you have another chance to enjoy the warm up Tuesday when temperatures again climb into the 70s. Mother Nature is going to remind us Wednesday that we are not quite yet done with winter.
