ST. LOUIS (KTVI) - Veterinarian Dr. Kelly Ryan with the Animal Medical Center of Mid-America talks about how bad teeth can be harmful for dogs' health.

Dental disease affects a large percentage of adult dogs and cats, leading to complications in vital organs such as the heart, liver and kidneys. Signs of bad teeth in your pet include: trouble chewing, excessive drooling, inflamed gums and appetite loss are all signs that could point to a dental issue.

Throughout March, the Humane Society is offering free dental exams at any of the Animal Medical Center of Mid-America's three locations. To schedule an appointment, call 314-951-1534. The offer ends on March 31.
