JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - A teenager, who said she stabbed her nine-year-old neighbor to death because she wanted to see what it felt like to kill someone, will not get a new trial.

Alyssa Bustamante pleaded guilty to the 2009 murder of Elizabeth Olten. Bustamante was just 15 years old at the time.

She was facing an automatic sentence of life in prison with no parole. But, she pleaded guilty to a lesser charge.

After the plea, the United States Supreme Court ruled juveniles cannot face automatic life sentences. Bustamante's lawyers say she would not have entered the guilty plea had she known about the pending Supreme Court case.
