Shooting at YMCA injures one teen

FERGUSON, MO (KTVI) – A Saturday night shooting at the YMCA in Ferguson, leaves one teenager injured.  The shooting occurred at the Ferguson Emerson YMCA, as police officers from Ferguson and surrounding municipalities responded to clear a large group of teens gather on the parking lot.

As officers were dispersing the crowd, a single shot rang out, sending the crowd in all directions. Officers noticed one teen holding a handgun, chasing the16-year-old suspect down and arresting him.

The teen injured, was hit in the ankle, and was transported to the hospital for treatment by relatives.

The suspect is currently being held at the St. Louis County Family Court in Brentwood.
