(KTVI) -  Breckenridge Hills police are looking at yet another possible child abduction attempt.

Police confirm that around 7:15 a.m. a 13-year-old girl at a bus stop may have been approached by a stranger.

The girl was standing at the bus stop at Gordon and St. Charles Rock Road when she says a man in a van tried to get her to come over to the vehicle.  The girl quickly ran back home.

The van is described as a full-sized white van with a ladder on top.  The girl told police the passenger who tried to get her to come to the van was a Hispanic male wearing a red ballcap and a red hoodie.  She did not get a good look at the driver.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police.

I don’t care if I have to change my work hours, my child will not be walking alone to the bus stop or school. I guess the warm weather is bringing them out. They been couped up all winter going crazy wanting young kids. Sick people I could never understand.

STL, I agree with you totally. This is becoming an every day problem. My son will not be going anywhere alone and it is really sad. Kids cannot be kids anymore in this terrible world we live in.

We have to also step up and help parents who can’t take their kids to the bus stop or drive them to school by keeping an eye out for all the kids it take a village

There needs to be an out reach to all stay at home parents or anyone else(even the retired folks) who live near a bus stop or where kids are walking to and from school and ask that they stand outside and watch them. Or heck even stand next to them!!!!

My kids are in the Ritenour district and the recorded call I received stated they waved at her, never said they tried to get her to go to the van. I kept the recording by the way.

The 2 kids in Lake STL & O’Fallon attempts also described the suspect as wearing a red ball cap.
