(KTVI) - One of the busiest stretches of Interstate 70 in the St. Louis region is back open after unexpected emergency repairs to the Blanchette Bridge. MoDOT workers closed the eastbound lanes late Friday morning after inspectors found problems with an expansion joint and a beam under the bridge.

A MoDOT employee on the way to work Friday morning noticed the problem and called engineers. MoDOT says drivers were not in any immediate danger.
