(KTVI) - One of the big stories to come out of the Winter Olympics in Sochi was the stray dog problem. Russian authorities euthanized many of them to clear the street of the dogs and some were adopted by Olympians.

St. Louis Blues captain David Backes saved some of the dogs. Kim Brown from Five Acres Animal Shelter talks about their permanent homes.

There's an event to benefit Five Acres. It's called "Uncorked," a wine, beer and food tasting event.  Call (636) 949-9918 or visit
(enter event code PAWS14), for more details.
