ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)-- Construction crews are tearing down the Forest park hospital building on Oakland near Highway 40.

They are making way for the St. Louis Zoo Expansion Project.

The zoo plans to move offices and research facilities into the new structure.

There are also plans to add restaurants and retail space.

While it's going to take up to 30 years to complete the project, a six level parking garage being renovated on the site is scheduled to open this summer.
