ST. LOUIS (AP) – Some fans of the St. Louis Rams are planning a weekend rally to help keep the city’s NFL team from leaving.

The Keep the Rams rally is scheduled for Saturday afternoon in Laclede’s Landing and comes amid growing unease over the team’s future.

The Rams are free to break their Edward Jones Dome lease after the 2014 season and want more upgrades to the publicly-owned stadium than local officials can afford. A company tied to team owner Stan Kroenke has purchased a prime piece of Los Angeles land, fueling speculation of a return to the city it left for the Midwest nearly two decades ago.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that a group known as Save the Rams unsuccessfully fought to keep the team from leaving southern California.

BYE BYEhave never been to a game anyway it’s too expensive. If football leaves St. Louis again then we don’t need another football team in St. Louis again.

Your not a fan so your opinion means nothing. There are alot of people here who love the ST LOUIS RAMS, If you dont go to games why do you care if they stay. GO ST LOUIS RAMS

I’m a football fan in general, and I couldn’t care less. Bye bye!!! Stan can take them all the Way to L.A. Tear down the dome, and throw up another parking lot.

I’m not a fan either, get rid of them. STL is a baseball town plain and simple. And with the new NFL rules about shutting down highway exits and such, good riddence.

  • Margie Heath

I would like it if they stayed but not by means of taxpayers footing the bill for another stadium or even upgrades to the existing one when we haven’t finished paying for the dome. There’s nothing all that wrong with the dome. The owner is playing a game of emotional and economic blackmail and I don’t appreciate it. The team really isn’t all that and times are hard. The city can’t afford it. If Stan can afford to buy a big slice of land in CA, he can afford to pay for the upgrades he wants. I have previously been calling them the Lambs but it just really isn’t about them. It’s about the greed and utter classless actions of the owner.

I hope they stay but it’s a done deal. The city can’t afford the upgrades. We will never see another NFL team again u costs wit. It would have been cheaper to keep the Cardinals I the beginning.

Keep the Rams here in STL! This city of ours can afford any & everything else why can’t they afford to keep a NFL team. They’re full of $HIT!

  • Chuck Schade

Let them go. We paid too much to get them and now they pull this? Is this the new “go to” in sports, give us what we want or we’ll leave? I grew up in STL and was there when we built a $300 million dollar stadium for a team we didn’t have. I’m now in Tampa and the Rays are pulling the same thing. Cities are loyal to their teams. Teams are not loyal to their cities.

St Louis fans make me sick well at least the ones that don’t care if Rams leave I bet if they were winning you wouldn’t say that I love the Cardinals and Blues but football is the number 1 sport in America no wonder nobody shows St Louis any respect saying we only back a winner and for those of you who feel blessed to have a football team to cheer on go Rams
