Possible gas leak leads to Edward Jones Dome evacuation

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)--Firefighters evacuated the Edward Jones Dome downtown at around 9:00pm Friday. Out partners at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch report someone detected an odor of natural gas or propane in the building.

The Dome is hosting Nerium International for a skin care convention. A bout 12,000 people were evacuated. Two people were treated at the scene and one was taken to a hospital.

Firefighters were unable to detect any natural gas. Laclede Gas shut off service to the Dome, while searching for a source.

Firefighters turned over the scene to Laclede and Edward Jones Dome officials around 10:30pm.

    I had the opportunity to entertain this group Thursday night at a bar on Washington Ave, and these people are great. How unfortunate for them! I hope this doesn’t scare them out of St. Louis for future events.
