(KTVI) - The Midwest Drift Union will hold Round One competitions at Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison, Il. over the weekend.

Drifting is the sport of making a car appear that it is “drifting” on the pavement. It can be a dangerous stunt, trusted only to the most skilled drivers. Serious competitors are licensed by organizations like MDU. The most successful become Formula D – licensed drivers, like Vaughn Gitten, Jr.

The MDU series has five rounds this season and the first will be held right here in the St. Louis metro area.
