(KTVI) - The Missouri Highway Patrol says three people were killed in a crash Friday morning.
The accident happened around 6:30 a.m. on Highway 185 near Highway EE in northern Washington County.
Troopers told Fox 2's Anthony Kiekow that a man in a Dodge pick-up truck illegally crossed the center line on 185 while trying to pass another vehicle.
The pick-up truck slammed head-on into a Mazda as it went over a hill. All three people inside the Mazda were killed.
Troopers report finding diapers in the debris from the crash, but they say no children were involved.
The Missouri Highway Patrol has identified the two women and the man in the passenger car as Valerie Lewis, 28, Shari Ryerson, 56, and Casey Edwards, 25. Washington County Coroner pronounced all three dead at the scene.
The driver of the pick-up truck was airlifted to a St. Louis hospital in critical condition. The Missouri Highway Patrol identified the pick-up driver to be Travis Rawe, 22.
Rawe could face charges, according to troopers.
