Cubs Beat Cards in Extra Innings

Welington Castillo’s three run home run in the 11th inning gave the Cubs a 6-3 win over the Cardinals on Friday night at Busch Stadium. Trevor Rosenthal, who was allowed to hit in the bottom of the 10th inning and struck out, gave up the game winning homer in the 11th.

Cardinals starting pitcher Joe Kelly pitched into the seventh inning, while allowing just one unearned run. The Cardinals tied the game at 3-3 with two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to send the game to extras. The loss drops the Cardinals season record to 5-5.
