BELLEVILLE, IL (KTVI) – Belleville police officers arrested Ramonte K. Gibbs on Thursday, April 10th following a call for a child abduction that occurred near North Belt West and Frank Scott Parkway. Officers responding to the scene found a lone female at a vehicle parked on the roadside, saying her 1-year-old child had been taken without her permission by the child’s father Ramonte Gibbs, following an argument the two had in the vehicle.

Gibbs was contacted at the O’Fallon, Illinois Wal-Mart, and was taken into custody, fully cooperating with Belleville Police Officers.

The child was returned to the mother, and Gibbs has been charged with one count of Child Abduction.

His bond has been set at $1,000. He’s being held at the St. Clair County Jail.

This poor kid is only a year old and already a pawn. Apparently the mother has sole custody and the father doesn’t respect the mother or the kid. It’s going to be an uphill battle for this kid.Parents are supposed to make things better for their kid, not worse.
